First Visit
At the time of your initial consultation please bring the following current information:
- Current medications list
- Dental insurance cards
- Manitoba Health Card (for Biopsies or to prescribe a narcotic only)
Please notify Dr. Finkleman of any medical conditions at your consultation (i.e., antibiotic premedication for heart conditions or artificial joints, blood thinners such as Aspirin, Plavix, Pradaxa or Coumadin or bisphosphonates). If you are under 16 years of age, your consenting parent or legal guardian must accompany you. Also if you are not fluent in English it is in your best interest to bring a translator to all of your appointments.
Please allow 2-business days prior notice in the event of the need to reschedule any appointments to avoid cancellation fees. (Please also note that our business days are Monday-Thursday.)
You will then meet with the doctor and his staff for a thorough oral examination, including oral cancer screening and the measurement of “pocket depths,” evaluation of risk factors, and possibly the taking of necessary digital films or scans. Generally, the first consultation appointment is for diagnostic information gathering and patient education, including case presentation of the overall condition and individual tooth prognosis. Customized and comprehensive treatment plan options, including a review of the benefits and risks, will be provided to help you reach your dental health goals.
We all look forward to meeting you!
